Pune had it’s first official Korean Speech Contest at the Indo Korean Center Pune which hosted the 2024 King Sejong Institute Pune Korean Speech contest on 6th July 2024, (this is a annual global contest organised by the KSIF foundation under the Ministry of Culture Sports & Tourism, Republic of Korea (South)), where the final contestants participated after a stringent selection process of students applicantions received by the institute. The contest was opened by the Director of the institute Dr. Eunjoo Lim. The IKC KSI Pune students Chirag Jaladi, Tanu Mishra, and Savani Rajpathak secured top honors. Winners received prizes including LG TV sets , microwave and wireless earphones sponsored by LG Electronics India. Consolations were given to Neha Kulkarni and Tanvi Joshi. The 1st prize winner will also have an opportunity to visit Korea for the finals conducted by the KSIF foundation. Remaining students were facilitated for an amazing performance. This video projects in limited time the high quality of students skill who are learning Korean language and Culture in this institute in KSI Pune, India.
The Career Development Center (CDC) was also inaugurated on the same day within the IKC in Pune by Mr.Dooshik Kim, Deputy Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai. The IKC Pune Co- founder and Director of CDC Mr. Sanjib Ghatak mentioned that the CDC will be the official interface with the Industries, Korean & Indian Universities and other Educational institutions.
The event showcased Indo-Korean cultural fusion and highlighted opportunities for Indian students in Korean companies and universities. The CDC was inaugurated in the presence of officials from prominent Korean industries and Korean University representatives from Posco Maharashtra Steel, LG Electronics Pune, Woori Bank, Ohsung Electronics, Dy.Consul from the Consulate general of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, Korean University representatives, governing council of IKC and other distinguished officials from various Korean organisations in India. - Update: Mr. Chirag Jaladi, student of Level 7 who was the winner at the 2024 speech contest in this institute was also given the opportunity to go to Korea to participate in the finals attended by 220+ finalists from other KSI’s of 84 countries. He was also selected by the CDC for his overall performance for the joint international internship program of the Indo Korean Center Pune and Nami Island Arts & Education, in Korea for three months.
